DisguiseInge Morath collaborated with Saul Steinberg to produce a series of photographs in a book called 'Masquerade'. These were based on people wearing masks which had facial expressions drawn on them. Richard Burbridge has produced portraits for fashion magazines in which the model wears a surreal mask, often made from found materials. Photo manipulation using digital software can be used to alter features or to add to a person's appearance or identity.

Once you've gathered some examples of photographs and the work of photographers that interest you, have a look through them and see what ideas emerge. Make a list or create a mindmap of all your ideas. Plan photoshoots to generate the images you may need to develop these ideas. Develop and refine your ideas as you go. Repeat photoshoots as necessary. Experiment with a range of appropriate materials, processes and techniques. Evaluate at each step and reflect on WWW/EBI. Take some creative risks. Be imaginative.
